Pleasant aromas of berries and spicy notes fill the nose. It has a solid structure, and is dense and concentrated. The finish is persistent, with aromas of ripe cherries and balsamic notes. Drink between 2006 and 2009.

Seductive cru wine of Castello di Meleto, with aromas of dark cherries and woody notes. A full, thoroughbred wine with robust tannin and a lingering finish. It can still mature. Drink between 2006 and 2010.

Comment: Well the Chianti Classico Riserva 2001. It reveals complex at the nose, with fruits like sour black cherries and cherry marmalade, with little hints of tobacco. Full at the palate, fairly round, it has just too pronounced tannins. The finish is long and tasteful.

This Chianti shows an intense ruby red color and nuances of garnet red, little transparency. The nose reveals intense, clean, pleasing, refined and elegant aromas of blueberry, violet, licorice, vanilla, tobacco, mace, cocoa and menthol. The mouth has good correspondence to the nose, a slightly tannic attack and pleasing roundness, however balanced by alcohol, good body, intense flavors, good tannins, agreeable. The finish is persistent with flavors of black cherry, plum and blackberry. A well made wine. | |
